It gives designers more creative freedom than many other production techniques by enabling them to break free from conventional limits and generate low-cost, shaped stainless steel, nickel, iron, copper, titanium, and other metal parts.
The steps in the MIM process are as follows: first, metal powders that meet MIM requirements are chosen, and organic binders are mixed into a homogeneous feed material using suitable methods at a specific temperature. Next, the feed material is granulated and injected into the cavity of the mould using an injection moulding machine in a heated plasticized state to obtain a forming blank, which is then degreased by chemical or solvent extraction and finally sintered to densify the finished product.
